Dong Khanh Hotel
BookLocation: Downtown
From: USD 24.00
We stayed at the Dong Khanh Hotel in Hoian. The Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were also extremely halpful and just did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The room was clean, well serviced and comfortable. As much hot water we needed to shower and clean towels every day. Their cheerful attitude made our stay very happy. In our travels through Vietnam and Cambodia it was definately our favourite place. We were sad to leave.- 06/12/2007, Ms. Barbara Smyth
Value for money at this hotel is excellent. The service is brilliant. There is nothing more we could have wished for here. It was a bonus to find that this hotel has a swimming pool. Dai, and other staff here, made sure we had an excellent stay, so much, that we stayed an extra two nights, to enjoy more, the beautiful town of Hoi An.- 10/09/2007, Mr. David Banfield

Hoa My Hotel
BookLocation: Downtown
From: USD 15.00
We booked Hoa My through www.hoian-hotels.com and although we were very happy with the service provided by this agency, the hotel was a real disappointment. The hotel has many facilities listed on the website yet does not provide half of them in reality. The advert on the website is full of lies (like 'every room has a balcony'). Even the photo of the hotel is incorrect – it has been doctored to show a double fronted hotel although in real life there is nothing to the left of it! Everything we queried that was advertised as being present was available – but at an extra cost ('complimentary' mineral water, welcome drink, mosquito nets, toiletries - “well you have a toilet” was the response we got!). We knew it was only a 1* hotel however it makes us so angry that they can get away with false advertising! Other problems included the wifi. We needed the wifi yet it only worked for about 10 hours out of our 3 night stay there. Breakfast took over 35 minutes each morning to arrive (they 'forgot' to make it or the breakfast cook arrived half an hour after our order was placed!) Our laundry came back damp and missing 3 items (which were later 'found'). On our day of departure they could not open the safe to return our valuable belongings and we had to wait over half an hour, making us late for our cooking class yet not one member of staff apologised for this. The air con runs on a separate circuit and they always forgot to switch it back on when we returned to the hotel so we had to go back down and ask them continually. Finally, the hotel is advertised as being in the 'centre of the old town' but this doesn't mean the centre of the old town as far as tourist sights are concerned. It is a good 15 minute walk to the water front and the Japanese bridge. We did not look at a map before booking but it is obvious that it is just off the last road out of town! The only plus points I can think of for this hotel are that it is quiet and not a noisy boozing back packer hotel and there is a good choice for breakfast – but you will have to be patient! Hoi An is full of beautiful little hotels that are the same price further into the main town (we checked a few out!) so there is no need to stay at Hoa My at all.- 04/02/2010, Mrs. LUCY LYNAM
Nice hotel. I had a booking but on the first night they said that someone was ill and could not check out so I had to stay in their related hotel which was not far but basic. However, Hoa My treated me so well and were very helpful so was happy overall. Also, when logged on by wifi, it sent tons of spam to everyone in my e-mail so watch out.- 25/12/2009, Mr. Justin Gill

Cua Dai Hotel
BookLocation: Cua Dai Road
From: USD 38.00
On the web site it mentionned that the deluxe rooms were upstairs and we ended up being downstairs , ground floor, I was dissapointed that the swimming pool was not in use. We do understand that this was caused due to the Typhoon, but I was really looking forward to the swimming pool. Also the breakfast was pretty poor, staff nice enough, but I was concern for my hygiene and health, the buffet was full of ants, and the fruit and yoghurt weren't really kept fresh and cool, my husband regret that he could not even have a simple piece of toast and normal sliced bread, could improve in cleaning for breakfast presentation, Lucky the chocolat croissants were really nice.- 15/10/2009, Mr. Ross Williams
The accomodation itself was fine however we found the staff to be quite surly compared to those we have stayed with on our trip. Everything we asked for seemed like a lot of trouble. Nice place, huge clean room, nice pool pity about the people minus one girl on the desk. While we were happy and it in no way affected our trip I think you could do better.- 27/02/2009, Mr. Justin Thomas

Huy Hoang 1 Hotel
BookLocation: Downtown
From: USD 22.00
We had the best room in the hotel for 2 nights and it was large and had a lovely river view. However the furniture was shabby, the light fittings broken and the bathroom not very clean. The beds were large but extremely hard and uncomfortable. The position of the hotel is great, right on the river, next door to the daily markets- fine if you are an early riser but noisey if you like to sleep past 5am. There is much better places for us $35 per night! One night we slept in one of the cheaper rooms and it was awful- cramped, no window, broken furniture/lighting and not too clean!- 14/01/2010, Ms. Kathryn Emery
The personnel was very nice and give good advice. I think that the room should be refreshed especially considering the price of the room. - 29/11/2008, Ms. Magali Bru

Thanh Van Hotel
BookLocation: Downtown

We were not at all happy with our room as it was next to the kitchen and the staff were very noisy waking us up at 5.30 in the morning. They said we ould move to another room but it would be 25 dollars more- 06/11/2009, Mr. Dennis Old
hotel staff are great really fiendly, but the hotel rooms are old and a bit smelly. there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which i have found through a lot of other hotels in vietnam. the pool is wonderful as are the surroundings, but as i said the rooms are a let down not at all as pictured. but for the money it's ok- 09/11/2008, Mr. Jeffrey Morrell
