Caring for destination
This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:

Reducing the poverty of the families in the countryside and helping street children

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:

We realize our guests would like to see the benefits of tourism shared with as many as possible.  Our hotel is doing what it can to help redress the imbalance in wages and living standards between those who are outside the direct impact of tourism and those who have seen their lives elevated from tourist based industries.  The Cua Dai hotel employs as many people as possible from the countryside and takes the extra time and effort to train them.  As a responsible company we also have links with the Street Children Centre and the Center for Social Affairs that allows guests to give back donation to worthy causes.  Have a restful holiday knowing that we are behind the scenes supporting the improved sustainability of the area.

Traveller Comments:
"Would not recommend the food from the restaurant menu, as it takes at least an hour to arrive, is cold or dry by then and very pricey considering it comes from the owners restaurant in town."
Ms. Sally C. - Australia on 12/07/2010
"Cua Dai Hotel was very welcoming and the pool environment at the back of the hotel was so relaxing."
Mr. Matthew L. - Australia on 29/04/2010
"On the web site it mentionned that the deluxe rooms were upstairs and we ended up being downstairs , ground floor, I was dissapointed that the swimming pool was not in use. We do understand that this was caused due to the Typhoon, but I was really looking forward to the swimming pool. Also the breakfast was pretty poor, staff nice enough, but I was concern for my hygiene and health, the buffet was full of ants, and the fruit and yoghurt weren't really kept fresh and cool, my husband regret that he could not even have a simple piece of toast and normal sliced bread, could improve in cleaning for breakfast presentation, Lucky the chocolat croissants were really nice."
Mr. Ross W. - Australia on 15/10/2009
"The accomodation itself was fine however we found the staff to be quite surly compared to those we have stayed with on our trip. Everything we asked for seemed like a lot of trouble. Nice place, huge clean room, nice pool pity about the people minus one girl on the desk.
While we were happy and it in no way affected our trip I think you could do better."
Mr. Justin T. - New Zealand on 27/02/2009
"The people were lovely and helpful. The ladies at breakfast were also friendly, talkative and there with a smile every morning which was great."
Ms. Elissa J. - Australia on 10/02/2009
"fantastic place to stay in hoi an"
Mr. james m. - New Zealand on 07/12/2008
"We were very pleased with our welcome and stay at the Cua Dai Hotel. The staff and management really went out of their way to be accommodating and to make sure that all of our needs were addressed and then went beyond the call of duty offering things like umbrellas and beach towels - things we didn't even dream of asking for!

The location is on a busy street, so it can be a bit noisy in the mornings, but the rooms are towards the back so we weren't disturbed by street noise. Only two regrets: we didn't try the pool until the last night (our huge loss), and that we couldn't stay longer. "
Ms. Erica B. - United States on 28/05/2008
"Good distance from the town - away from most of the tourists and their Western style night life but close enough to enjoy the walk into town.

With new facilities (swimming pool, new suites with a balcony facing the pool) added, the price was reasonable. I believe they also plan to start bar/restaurant service on site. (Currently you can order from a restaurant and have it delivered to the hotel.)

Staff are all smily and friendly. Not everyone speaks fluent English but front desk staff can help and provide advice on sightseeing spots in and around town."
Ms. Nobi H. - Japan on 02/09/2006
